6:30 AM this morning, on my way into San Francisco in my 26-year-old Mercedes 320 E for latte and waffle at Café Greco in North Beach, then swim in Aquatic Park cove (water 52.3° today — I wimp out by wearing a shorty wetsuit— unlike most other hardy cove swimmers),

Then an Irish coffee at Buena Vista Café, then sushi lunch in Japantown, followed by shopping at incredible Super Mita Japanese grocery store at 1790 Sutter St. It’s a staggeringly abundant and exotic (and inexpensive) place to shop; check it out. Then back across the bridge to drop off my chainsaw to be sharpened at Jackson’s Hardware cuz there’s a lot of downed trees on the roads (from storms) to be had for firewood. A productive and fun day in the city that I love.
