JB Bryan - La Alameda Press instigator/designer says he wishes we’d solely gone the route of hand-produced books. So nice to hear your admiration of all of your book made to give away over the years. Solidarity.
In this sea of insanity, we find ourselves sailing in these days Lloyd you are the welcome soft breeze of sanity. I so much look forward to your posts. Every time I read one I kick myself in the ass for driving along the costal road and not making that left turn. Still truck'in here in northern Vt. after 45 plus years on the same stewardship......Stay Well.
thanks for sharing this. I remember when I interviewed Dale Pendell's late wife in their shared library and studio, she pulled out some books he had made that aren't out in the world. (I got to meet him at a botanical sanctuary in Ohio years before and hit it off and didn't get to interview him for my podcast before he died). Most of them were screenprinted in editions of 1-20 maybe? but made while camping, or mining when he had a mining claim, and so on. They were so interesting. I used to do this kind of thing as a kid too, and then also made zines as I got older, that I reprinted though. I've done some letter press and artists books, edition of 3. its fun to play with this medium and the ways its being one of a kind vs/ reprintable changes what it is.
