I do not smoke or drink (or do drugs), never have, although sometimes I do like having a delicious cup of matcha!! 🍵 😜🩷

Been doing edibles for the same reason. I was also a cigarette smoker back in the day also. Another reason for retiring in the forest.....sleeping and breathing in the conifer air has done wonders for my entire health. Great advice Lloyd

For a brief moment, it was as though glimpsing through a keyhole into the life of Lloyd Kahn. In 1964 I was in Mr. Borgstedeʻs 4th grade class at Laurel Elementary in Castro Valley.

great post, also loved learning that you sat zazen at the San Francisco Zen Center, you would have been in good company then. I've read that Lenore Kandel used to sit zazen around that time there as well.

Love this story. I was a college student in Santa Cruz in 1972 when you were likely building ‘domes’ down in Big Sur. You had stopped building the domes in the Santa Cruz Mountains by then I believe.

Spent a lot of time down at Esalen at the ‘baths’ from midnight to dawn. Back when Esalen let “locals” in for a minimal charge to use the baths when the paying Esalen guests were asleep!

Your dome architecture is very much a part of the vernacular of “No CA alternative architecture” of the late 60’s/early 70’s found mostly along the coast.
